M.Sc. in Epidemiology

About the M.Sc. Programme in Epidemiology

The M.Sc. in Epidemiology provides students with strong foundation in research and critical thinking in public health and epidemiological sciences. Students share most of their coursework with doctoral students during the first year, and undertake a master-level thesis work in their second year, with primary data collection in their country of origin.

The Programme encourages students to publish in peer-reviewed prior to or soon after the thesis defense, which strengthens their research profile. Graduates of the Programme are actively working at government agencies, universities, and the private sector in positions such as research assistant, researcher, statistician, data manager, data analyst, data quality control, and clinical research coordinator. The skills acquired in the study of epidemiology are readily transferable to other fields, and graduates of the Programme also pursue careers in health sciences, social science, education, and health economics. Many graduates of the program go on to study for their doctoral degrees, both in Thailand and overseas.
